Organic Cleaners: Lemon Juice

Organic cleaning products are a great alternative to the types of chemical laden cleaners you find at the store. Not only are organic cleaners better for the environment, but they are very easy to make. The recipes are simple and involve readily available ingredients the most common being vinegar, lemons, and baking soda.

One of the simplest and cheapest cleaners is made from lemon juice and water. Simply dilute lemon juice into an equal amount of water. Store the solution in an empty spray bottle.
Different strength solutions can be made by increasing or decreasing the amount of lemon juice.
Too much lemon juice, however, may leave streaks and might damage some surfaces.

When compared to organic cleaners, it is obvious that traditional cleaning solutions are not the best option. Organic cleaners finish the job then quickly biodegrade. They don't require one time plastic packaging; more cleaning solution can repeatedly be mixed and refilled into the same container. Because of their simple ingredients, cleaning solutions such as the lemon juice and water mixture are less likely to contain chemicals about which the long term effect on humans is unknown.

An additional advantage is the low cost:
   - bottled lemon juice = $1.50
   - spray Bottle = 50¢
   - tap water = free

I also found water and vinegar to be a good general cleaner and if you want to be daring hydrogen peroxide is relatively harmless

I have experimented with those in the past. Maybe I'll explore them further and post about them. Thanks for your input!
